Tangsoodo or even Tang Soo Wash (唐手道 / 당수도, Sino-Korean: The Way of the Tang Fist) is a popular Korean martial art that has been largely incorporated into Taekwondo.
Origins
Although a origins of a art keep around been debated for many decades, these are is usually accepted that Tang soo launder originated as a combination of ternary major styles: Soo Bahk Launder, Northern China Kung Fu, & Southern China Kung Fu, cooperative by having the Okinawan discipline and limited katas of Karate by Grandmaster Hwang Kee (黄琦 / 황기) (1914 - 2002).
Name
When it was created, Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Run was originally known as Hwa Soo Launder (花手道 / 화수도) or even Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do (武德館唐手道 / 무덕관당수도). Now a Moo Duk Kwan style is known as Soo Bahk Do.
Virtually all (100%) modern Tang Soo Wash stylists trace their lineage back to the Moo Duk Kwan, around a bit of form.
A number 1 recorded usage of the term "Tang Soo Do" within contemporary history was by Chung Do Kwan founder, Lee- Won Kuk. A Chung Run Kwan ceased using the title while it was incorporated into Taekwondo.
Founder
Grandmaster Hwang Kee, world health organization founded a Moo Duk Kwan style of Tang Soo Wash, was said to will have conditioned Chinese martial arts patch around Manchuria, & got been influenced by Japanese karate & Korean Taekkyon (택견). He too claimed to use been extremely influenced by an old book just about martial arts known as a Muye dobo tongji (武藝圖譜通志 / 무예도보통지).
Whilst Grandmaster Hwang Kee died around 2002, his boy Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang, President of a Globe Moo Duk Kwan, became the leader of this Korean Martial Art that his father created.
